Regards the debt:  I really don't get why these loans are for such epic amounts of money in the first place.  I mean what on earth do you do with it?  I've never been in debt and never will be, so loans and the way they work have never interested me.  It boils down to the same thing again, you're doing what everyone else does, doing what "society" expects you to do.

Tell me, what on earth did Shane need $130K for a student loan for? ... that's $130K FFS!
Better still, tell me why a person needs a student loan at all!

I used to have a car, I used to like owning one, but when it got to the point where car ownership was an unsustainable liability for me, that was it, the car had to go.  And it's the same with anything else, if you cannot afford it, you have to get over the fact that you cannot have it - simple as that.  It's failure to grasp basic logic that get's people into debt.  I want a Canon 5D Sooooooooo fucking bad it's pathetic, but I can't afford one, so I can't have one!  And It pisses me off whenever I see the 'rich kids' get them for Christmas, only to shoot their fucking cat videos with them - but what can you do?

Too bloody right it isn't!

But you know what?  ... When I'm in the position to do so, then I'll be able to save-up for one, and then I'll be able to buy one!
In the meantime, the anticipation of finally owning one is something that makes the wait bearable.
