The thing is if people are given the right template, they will be willing to work with the figure, even if not perfect at launch. The first thing content creators look at is the mesh, and from there they can see how far it could possibly go, and that's where their decisions are made if it's something that warrants continued support. Also, most have the assurance from Daz that continued support would be present, and that the figure will thrive. It is one thing they have proven over and over. EG a good investment of time and money. Now if SM or another 3rd party releases a figure can anybody here say they have a good record and have continually supported it? That is key here, continued support. It is why most are not willing to jump on board unless you have a proven you can do this.
To add, a figure does not have to be perfect, they never are. BUT they must be able to deliver fantastic results when in matters and must in the wider sense of things cater for peoples needs.
