OK Brian I've this hair and done few test too

Results are pretty much very similar like above I've posted and I've used on those renders 3 Raytrace bounces

Render time:18 mins

SSS skin and EZSkin with Light Emitter ON,Visible in RT ON,render size 1920x1200 300dpi

Render time: 6mins

Light emitter OFF on hair

Visible in RT ON

Render size: 1920x1200 300dpi
