i realize this isn't really what your asking, but dynamic clothing is a great way to deal with custom fits, and personally i think it looks better anyway. if you are inclined, its relatively easy to make too, but if not, quite a few conforming clothings can be made dynamic with a simple obj export/import. shrink fitting dynamic cloth is also good for custom chara's,
