Of course it reversed all the normals. That's why step 2 is reverse all the normals.
Scaling by -100% means to take any positive X value and replace it with the corresponding negative X value, and vice versa. When you do this, everything becomes inside-out because the winding order of the polygon is now the opposite to what it was.
As for it not working in 2012 (or other Poser versions) so be it. I had no reason to think "basic math" doesn't work in some versions of Poser, but I guess that's the case.
As my signature says, I use Poser Pro 2014 and my display units are set to inches.
Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)
