I am pretty sure there are other options rather than monthly, ie, quarterly, half yearly, yearly etc. The problem is not with obtaining a copy of CS6 but rather in purchasing the license although I think you can still obtain a license from Adobe, best go to their site and see what is available.. It seems to me that your up in the air comment suggests that you are confused or maybe misinformed about "the cloud". Only work that you choose to upload to your online storage account is stored on adobe's servers, which can be none at all if that's what you choose. You are still working from your desktop. The programs are downloaded to your pc just as with a disc it is just that all updates are available to you immediately, and automatically if you want, not when the next release comes out, also there is content that just is not available on disc.
Personally I think the subscription method is a great thing, in the end it saves Adobe a lot of money in disc production which means they can offer us, their customers, a better deal.A real no-brainer if you ask me.
