Subject: Poser to Maya

Forgive the question but i`m curious. Starting to learn Maya 2014 and not far enough to be making and texturing figures. Have tried importing a Poser figure but its way too heavy. But, as far as using the tex for a Poser figure inside Maya, would one just apply that to the UV and that should work?

Thsnks, not even sure how to ask properly.

what version of Poser are you using? There may be a plug in for Maya. Maya users, could you help out here?

Oops sorry is Poser 10 to Maya 2014. Maya users usually see it as an insane idea lol. But until I get alot further along in Maya will be curious. Maybe I can simplify the Poser V/M4 mesh and apply the tex...wondering how nice it would look or am I wasting my time, esp if I would need to add all the characteristics of the shader.

it's PoserFusion and you get those plugins with Poser Pro 2014.

and how nice it would look all depends on how well you know Maya and setting up lighting and whatever render engine you use (PRMan,VRay,Maxwell Render,MentalRay,Arnold.....)

you can always fbx it into maya just open your scene up in studio and fbx from there into maya.maybe collada also but wouldnt know never really worked right for me.

and renderman is free (non commercial version )and turtle and mental ray are both in maya (mental ray is a seperate download now and turtle needs to be enabled in the plugins menu
