I used to unbutton the top button of my shirt, put Grandpa inside, and he went everywhere with me.  Three and a half pounds, and as healthy looking at they can be,   Miniatures aren't like regular Chihuahuas, they have the sweetest nature you could imagine, Grandpa was no different.  I don't really know how old he was, he came to me through an animal rescue, the vet estimated ten at that time, and I had him for almost five years.  Chihuahuas were the only dogs my wife didn't have an allergy to, so they're about all we ever had.  Buried him this morning, something I definitely didn't want to do.  That's four dogs and three cats in that area now, one dog died in winter and I couldn't dig, so had her cremated, the vet disposing of her.  All of the dogs were over thirteen, and that makes for a very big attachment to them.  My  last one now, I'm too damned old, I'll go before they do and I'd rather not have to worry what would happen to another dog when I ain't here anymore.  Still have two cats, but they're not the same, although they can be pretty nice sometimes.
