It was an open beta program, Pappy; anyone who wanted to could run the beta Win10, on as many machines as you wanted - the more different machines, the better.. MicroSoft wanted to gather compatibility info on as many different system configurations as they could get. If you see the black & white Windows icon in your notification tray (bottom right of your monitor, I've boxed it in green here), that indicates that someone has beta tested a machine matching your hardware configuration and it has been found to be compatible.
I don't know of any problems with Poser Pro 2014 and Win10 per se; the only problems I've heard of were due to lack of drivers for some particular piece of hardware (maybe a USB3 host PCIe card for older machines, for example), but these drivers have been getting coded and released prodigiously.
