Is there any difference between My DAZ 3d Library and My Library? I get confused with vendors product installations and free stuff in Zip files. Half the time I cannot find stuff that I have installed. Some say to install in My DAZ Library others say My Library. Another problem I have found is that some vendors use a runtime with geometries,textures and libraries etc. Where do these file go in DAZ Studio 4.8? I know where items go in Poser! Cheers

The issue comes from different versions of Daz gave different names to the folder above the runtime folder.

Really you can name this folder whatever you like as long as it is configured correctly within DS.

The variance you see in products ranges from preferred system of the vendor to the age of the product itself.  

I tend to keep a DS runtime and a Poser runtime but the name will vary depending on what your first version was and what you have configured in both DIM and DS.

The My DAZ 3d Library is located in public documents on a PC and is the default library used by DAZ Install Manager (DIM). I leave that library alone and let DIM manage that library. I install all content from other sources in My Library.

DAZ Studio supports both DAZ Format libraries and Poser Format libraries. The My Library and My DAZ 3d Library are folders that contain a DAZ Format library. Inside the folders for these libraries you will find a Runtime directory which is a Poser Format library.

If you get a vendor zip files with only a runtime with geometries,textures and libraries etc you can merge this into the Runtime folder under the My Library directory.

DAZ format products frequently also contain a Runtime folder, sometimes under the My Library or Content directory. This Runtime usually only contains Textures. Most DAZ Format products still store their texture files in the Poser Format Runtime library inside one of the DAZ Format folders.

Specifically, My DAZ 3D Library is designed to have your content from DAZ 3D and My Library is for your content from you (or other sources) to avoid accidentally overwriting content you bought from DAZ 3D. 

Note, however, that the fourth generation base figures and ExP morph expansions do all have to use the same content directory - either all in My DAZ 3D Library or all in My Library (or all in any other directory you choose).
