Subject: Does anyone recommend Dina over Vicki?

I'd like to know more about Dina. Have not seen too much to be really impressed. There are certainly ways to make Vicki look really pretty while Dina doesn't quite have the same glamourous appearance. Oh well, this is coming from the guy who fought for EVE over Vicki too... :-) PapaBlueMarlin

Dina certainly looks liek a nice mesh technically - and I am sure int ime she will be 'pretty' as well. For me, what makes a Poser character is the support, and Dina looks like she has some comming. So that is cool too. I wouldn't reccomend her over V2 though. The main reason is that the beauty of this tool is the aftermarket. The stuff here, the stuff from Daz and so on.. and liek most markets there will always be a "standard" that you KNOW everything will come out for.... That's Vicki/Vicki2. So I think Dina is a OK second or third model, but I would say that Vicki is an absolute essential.

It's really a personal judgement call - Dina's greater potential, much lower price, & enthusiastic support & following has to be ballanced against Vicki's larger established customer base, & the undeniable fact there's a Hck of a lot more available for vicki currently. I talked to someone at dsi recently about a minor download problem, & during the conversation learned they hope (given enough response to Dina) to expand the line with more High-quality low-priced figures in the same line. (One can hope there'll be a certain amount of inter-changability among them - I get really tired of trying to track what textures, clothes, etc go to this or that figure - gripegripewhiiiiiiine*) I already had Vic & Vic2, but after loading a freebie morph-head for Vic2 in 3DExplorer, & comparing to one for Dina, I was so impressed with it's potential, I now have Dina & just about all the accys available so far. For what it's worth, that's my $.02 worth :-))

I also have Dina and all but one texture set and the eyeglasses. I like her a lot but I would get Vickie first not only because of all the stuff available for her, especailly if you have vickie 2.0 with the P4 model, but because she is easy to work with. Dina has tremendous potential, and though she is still going throught the gauntlet of poser naysayers I think she will come out of it just fine. How bout a male character to go with her dacort? I am very happy that I didn't listen to the roar of the crowd, (usually don't), and that I bit the bullet and bought her. At first I thought I'd made a real mistake, but now that I have worked with her I am glad I did. My only request right now is to have the eyes capable of xyz movement. Hint. Marque

Marque, It's likely that the next DSI character will be a male. My vote would be for a guy with a trim, more average physique, but all that remains to be determined. - Dan

Oh Oh Yes Dcort. Personally Mike is not my cup of tea. Always liked the leaner men myself. I am the first customer if the male has a more lean figure. crossing her fingers Angela
