I also had the hijack and a very scary situation afterwards. Windows 10 would recognise my second monitor, and the main screen's aspect ratio was wrong. I tried downloading a new video driver through the Geforce experience programme, and it would tell me there is a Windows 10 update for my video card, then it would try to download it and fail, and then tell me that the driver isn't compatible with Windows 10. I freaked out. Eventually I found the device manager and used that to upgrade the video driver, and it is working now. I almost rushed out to get a new video card, but it seems I can get a bit more service out of this one. Our cap is 100GB over fibre and I can easily add to it, so I am not too bothered about the downloads and updates.
