I don't have automatic updates on my other Windows 7 machines, and I made sure that the update that asks you to pick a date was not installed at all. But my other pc I did have Automatic updates, but like a few I just downloaded the iso file and will install it when I want. I have been testing Windows 10 at work, if you purchase the Windows 10 Enterprise version you can stop Automatic updates and you can adjust what you want. I don't mind Windows 10, except I do agree that Microsoft has indeed pushed to far as to taking the rights away from users. I think they will change that (maybe) a lot of people are denying the update to 10 because of those automatic updates. We will see.
