"Luckily Poser Pro 2014 still gives me the option to work away happily with no constant on-line connections."
I am a long time mac OS user who, in late 2014,
got my first windows machine (win 7)
since the bygone days of windows 95.
I got it specifically to run two win only apps. Reallusion Iclone pro
and Natural Motion Endorphin.
I use a program on the mac OS called "little snitch"
that prevents the "tellware" features of my many mac programs from "phoning home" and reporting on my"user activities" to Adobe,Nextlimit etc.
I have found that when I use the similar blocking feature of Zone Alarm to prevent my win7 PC from outgoing communications that the wretched flash based poser pro 2014 library fails to load.
Not a show stopper for me as I use the third party content Manager from Shader works.

I can only say..., Welcome to the Future :-/
where Data is the new "water" and a broadband 24/7 connection is the new "indoor plumbing" separating the have's from the have not's
I recently got my first real"smart phone",Samsung Galaxy,
and was surprised to find, in my "phone contacts", every person I have ever emailed from my google based "Gmail" account including some former freelance clients with whom I parted ways on less than amicable terms.
This invasive new paradigm is becoming the new normal.
and your viable, realistic options for "opting out" completely are quickly dissappearing.
