I'm on Win 7 Home, my settings are to never check for updates (I do it manually) with both recommended updates and allow all users unchecked.
When manually checking for updates, two links will show up, one for important updates (all selected) and optional updates (all unselected).
I just updated, and I'm ashamed to say there were 40 important updates. When the smoke cleared there was no mention of Win 10 anywhere.I did look through the optional updates and the KB3035583 update mentioned by Dreamlandmodels was in the optional section and unselected, so it wasn't a factor in my update.
As far as Win 10, it was not an option for me. Or maybe I'm misunderstanding, and MS isn't offering free Win 10 for Win 7 users?
I misunderstood your original post, I now understand what you were saying about optional updates. As far as I know Windows 10 is free to anyone running a valid version of Windows 7 or 8 but you will find that the option you have on Windows update in Windows 7 Home does not exist in Windows 10 home. Also if you do update to Windows 10, you have 30 days in which you can reverse the update after which time the Windows 7/8 license number is made invalid.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
