So after you took off Daz 4.7 and the DIM were you prompted to restart computer to complete removal? Some programs ask others might not. Always wise to do so anyway as removes trace elements

I tried to re-downloaded the DS manager, and tried to download and install DS4.8, but it doesn't work.

Since you mentioned two steps of the procedure I can assume the DIM is up and running and its the software part of the install that headed south - 

You would need to clarify whether you managed to actually download the full program and the installer made an attempt to install it and failed in the "Ready to Install" tab of the DIM or did you just get download failed in the download bar on the right in the DIM " Ready to Download" tab as there is a big difference.

The first one listed here is a - Houston we got a problem.  The second is a more likely a minor glitch
