Just to add to what Len said ...

The people you're "following" also includes your old "friends" list from before, as well as your list of favorite artists. You might need to "unfollow" people in order to clean up that list to see only new art from those you really want to see. New art from people on that list will show up in your Activity Feed (the little icon next to your avatar in the black bar at the top of the page).
