I'm making some progress, I did add some content manually and it did appear in Daz Studio. I'm gradually finding out where the controls are.
It does seem like things are easier to find in Poser where what ever you click on becomes the active object and the options are all right in the windows in one place.
I haven't got to the animating part yet, but I remember that when I tried Daz before there was a neat walk animation system that let you add movements to the timeline placing turns etc, where you wanted them, and they the character would walk the path.
Since animation is one of my main things I'm looking forward to trying that out again.
I haven't figured out if Mimic is incorporated into the new Daz or not. I used Mimic for years to do lip-sync in Poser, but the built in Poser app works well enough to use that now.
