Take a look at some of the mice used for gaming set ups. You can get both USB and wireless depending upon your preferences. I have an Azza which was a close to the MS Optical mouse as I could come. It uses standard USB optical mouse drivers and has side buttons. It's a decent size but not too heavy. I can't use compact mice as I tend to death grip them while I'm working.
