Working on a project from CGCookie with Jonathon Wialliamson narrating. I don't like following Jon's tuts because he talks too fast and is always starting something and halfway through changes his mind about how he wants to do it. Hate when that happens! Any way, I'm working on an M4 rifle . The handguard uses a Picatinny rail and has holes in it. Holes are accomplished by using an array and shrink wrap modifier. The handguard is cut and uses a mirror modifier to finish it up. Everything went according to plan until I added in a subsurf modifier. The mesh proceeded to tear in the end of the array piece. I've looked at the mesh closely and it appears a bit distorted in wireframe. It looks fine before the subsurf is added. Any suggestions?
TIA
Charlie~
