Subject: Modeling glass for Poser render; best?

EldritchCellar ( ) posted Thu, 05 November 2015 at 11:25 AM · edited Wed, 27 November 2024 at 2:38 AM

Hi, I'm modeling something for my Cthog figure, basically an add on cerebral container... something like you would see on a 1950's style alien or robot with a visible brain in a glass case. Would it be best to model the glass as having thickness rather than a one sided plane? I'm thinking for use of realistic refraction and especially since cycles is being implemented in Poser. Thanks.

Having real thickness is always a good idea. For example, Reality has been in use with Poser for years and your model will render much more realistic if it will have thickness.

Cheers.

Thank you Pret-a-3D, I'll go ahead and create it with thickness then. I recall a thread wherein BB discussed the need for thickness for realism in firefly, long time ago. If adding this is best in the past and moving forward (even with different renderers) that's what I'll do.
