Actually, the .obj files can be found in the Writable Runtime Folder specified in Poser' s Scripts>DSON Support>Importer Preferences, under Runtime/DSON/auto-adapted/data ; drill down to the desired figure there. You can then morph a copy of it and either bring it into Poser or Studio as an FBM.

Although I haven’t used it, Wings 3d is a free modeler... http://www.wings3d.com/
