Truth is that both Poser and Daz are losing some customers due to the supposed wisdom of adding security features, Poser with the deactivation procedure and Daz with connect. I have no figures on how many are affected but in both cases there are at least some that have not upgraded to the latest version of Poser 11 and Daz 4.9.

Not trying to start a war but the Poser deactivation service did wipe out at least a few installations of game dev. Many over at Daz3D are stating that they are holding fire on upgrading to 4.9. To my knowledge, none of these people are pirates, mainly because the pirates are too busy working on hacks, they are loyal users that just do not like giving over control of their programs either by not having confidence it will continue to work or being forced to place their content in certain folders on their computer.

At least Daz was upfront about connect the same cannot be said about the introduction of the deactivation service in Game Dev, oh an before I am accused of being a Daz fan boy, I don't use studio, I do use Poser, and, regretfully, I did upgrade to game dev, hence my reluctance to upgrade to Poser 11.

I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 -  Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB  storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU .   The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
