Pixars SubD's n Ptex is free. If Autodesk dual quaternion rigging is free it will be in Poser if not it won't be, ever.
I presume it's in the Public Domain; The only patent I came across is by Disney, not Autodesk, and it's used in a particular two-stage bending application...

I don't know if Pixars SubD's n Ptex is Public Domain but I know it's free but we Pay Poser for it cause they coded in to a user friendly forum. Hello World ;)

Public Domain ,CopyRights ,Patents are complicated matters of law.
the patents/US20150002517 is dated 2013 dual quaternion rigging math has been around a lot longer. Might be older then the invention of CGI even.
