For what it's worth, my iMac has a very modest nVidia graphics card (GT 650M) which does support GPU rending in Poser 11, but I don't even use it - CPU rendering is faster for me. Of course it depends on what you need to do, but for a 'hobbyist' like me it's fine.

Poser Preview rendering uses OpenGL, which should be well supported by the integrated Intel graphics.
