Bought a 3D printer so my first serious go was Ug, my favourite character!

How long did it take to print it?

Took about 14 hours all told. Printer is an Ultimaker 2 and cost £1700. Hope the wife don`t read this.

That's what I'm always afraid of when I die and my wife sells my fishing tackle for prices I told her I've bought it 😱

The Ultimaker is a fine printer and worth the price.

Did you print it in multiple pieces and glued them together or did you use support material?

bantha, I used supports which turned out so overgunned they were a problem to remove. One piece was the idea but the right arm came out wrong so I went back to Poser and made an obj of just the arm, printed that and glued it on.

ROFL! Yeah, I say the same thing about my husband. Hope he never finds out how much I really spend on my 'hobby' lol..... Really love that Ug too. My son's school has a 3d printer which I'm always welcome to use but never have yet. Maybe when the price goes down a little I'll invest in one as it looks like a blast.

Try Autodesks Meshmixer (it's free) for creating the support structures. They are completely different, more like vines ranking up on your object, and they are much easier to remove than the Cura support.
