The Ultimaker is a fine printer and worth the price.
Did you print it in multiple pieces and glued them together or did you use support material?

ROFL! Yeah, I say the same thing about my husband. Hope he never finds out how much I really spend on my 'hobby' lol..... Really love that Ug too. My son's school has a 3d printer which I'm always welcome to use but never have yet. Maybe when the price goes down a little I'll invest in one as it looks like a blast.

Try Autodesks Meshmixer (it's free) for creating the support structures. They are completely different, more like vines ranking up on your object, and they are much easier to remove than the Cura support.
