Well, We can say is RDNA death, not Poser death at all, there are many people and artists that support Poser, and there is life after DAZ3d and their figures, just open the eyes. 
I can make a list of more than 10 figures equal or even better than equivalent Daz figures along time , the only problem is that people don't know them or just They are blinded by the marketing, and this is the reason many vreators make content for DAZ figures, it is just a vicious circle
The only problem that Daz has to close this circle definitively is that Poser is much better than DStudio, even if they five it by free, people still buy Poser.
Said that, I have no problem with people using Daz Studio, it is just another option in the "market", the problem comes when DAZ3d try to close the other door, Poser, just because they cannot control that part of the cake.
Genesis and now this "merge" is just another step from Daz3d to get the entire cake, thing that can be logical for a bussines, but not good for the content buyers and creators.
