Subject: material room. what goes where

Hi back again with another question. with poser 11 having a new setup with regards to the material room for superfly rendering. and that I am now importing OBJ's from Daz Studio. I sometimes have to go into the poser material room and set up the textures, that I can take from the Studio runtime. but this leaves me wondering want goes/plugs in where? generally I will have four images/files. one full colour. one black & white. one grey. and one blue/purple. so I ask what are they and where do they plug in to in poser11? as always thanks ahead of time and have a good weekend

Roughly, generally speaking, the full color map will be the diffuse texture.

The black & white will be a transparency map,

the grey will be a bump/displacement map,

and the blue/purple will be a normal map.

Poser 12, in feet.  

OSes:  Win7Prox64, Win7Ultx64

Silo Pro 2.5.6 64bit, Vue Infinite 2014.7, Genetica 4.0 Studio, UV Mapper Pro, UV Layout Pro, PhotoImpact X3, GIF Animator 5

Further to the above, and again in general:-

Diffuse map (colour) via a lighting node into the Alternate_Diffuse input (or you can plug it straight into the Diffuse_Color input, which has a built-in lighting node)

Transparency map (b&w) into the Transparency input

Displacement map (greyscale) into the Displacement input (you might need to subdivide the mesh to make this work properly)

Normal map (blue) into the Gradient_Bump input, and set Gradient_Mode to Tangent Space Normal Map

many thanks to all. with big thanks to Isao Shi for telling what plugs into where. Also to Jules53757 for link to the tut & webinar. slowly sorting out what I need. But It is looking loads better for your help. hope you had a good weekend
