The cloth room can be helpful for this, although it can be tricky with some things. As an example of how I overcame this problem, I shall link to my gallery featuring my character, Sasha. There is a lot of nudity involved, so please bear that in mind.

What I did was take the Hot Summer 2009 bikini by Powerage and export each item to my 3D application, where I removed the knots and extended the strings to compensate, remapping these extensions to suit my needs.

I then imported each item back and manually applied the same materials as the bikini which was previously worn by Sasha in the previous renders and then simulated the cloth from there.

There was a lot of trial and error involved, but I think it worked out ok, for the most part.

Also be aware that some conforming items have completely separate meshes for things like cuffs, collars, tubing etc, and will likely mess these up during the simulation.

Fret not though! There is a plugin in development which should be able to solve these problems! You can read more about it and see examples here: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/?thread_id=2891120

Here is the link to Sasha's gallery, so that you can see the results. Again, please be advised that this gallery contains nudity!
