Granted most movies do have plot holes .. but they usually dont have plot holes combined with bad script and terrible editing . Which is why the movie got the scores that it did . Saying that though , i didnt hate the movie it was entertaining . and my wife who knows very little about the DC universe thought so too. But it did have problems .. way to many considering the amount of time and and talent involved in it . Personally i would have wanted them to hold off on doomsday aswell as justice league . and have this movie solely concentrate on developing superman and batmans characters . and there interaction with each other , and SLOWLY building to there friendship ..it would have been more believable .. there ideological differences should have been the focus of this movie ... I'm guessing the fact that the 30 min which was cut out to shorten its runtime would've helped make things more cohesive ....
It did sound to me like they were trying to squeeze way too much into one film, presumably because they're trying to catch up with Marvel's Avengers movies. Marvel started out slowly and didn't try to rush things. DC is trying jump in and be where Marvel is now, after, what? Maybe 57 films? :P So DC is cramming things into one film that should have been introduced gradually over three or five or seven stories. DC is running to catch up. Interestingly, that's not unlike the Marvel-DC dynamic in the late 60s, then again in the 80s (and maybe again, more recently, with the whole New 52 thing). Marvel has successfully dragged the the superhero genre in its chosen direction over and over again, and DC keeps trying to do the same thing. There's a longstanding meme that DC has the more iconic characters, but Marvel tells more compelling stories. That isn't always true, but in general DC's strongest stories seem to be out-of-continuity standalone graphic novel/limited series sorts of things, while Marvel remains strong with the ongoing, serialized storytelling. Or something.
