Yeah, I used the fabric function for both color and bump production. Function scale at.3 material scale at .2. I started messing about more with color production and I think I can get something close to a plad (sp?), but it's gonna require more work. I tried a solid tan color map and it looked like it would make a great distant stone block wall.
I knew that sly fox Varian had something up his sleeve when he mentioned this whole fabric thing... :) But yeah, this is very cool, and I didn't have a clue this was in Vue... Me, I'm the type that's always grabbing pictures for textures... But yeah, you definitely got a great burlap texture there and whatever that poser thing is gives it the old cloth effect 1 million percent... :)
It's "plaid", Rich, but it's pronounced the way you spelled it. I've been trying to figure out how one could set up a plaid, too. LOL Paul, I didn't have any ideas to start with, really. And you're right, this version looks a lot like burlap. In the smaller scale Rich used, it looks like a thick upholstery material. I wonder what other fabrics we can find in the editor. ;)
Hi John, it's in the bump section of the material editor. I don't think it's one of the "library" selections, which you'll find if you choose to load a bump. If you right click on any bump material, and select "edit function", you'll find it in a long list of alternate bumps. You've never seen the Bump Editor? Good stuff in there!
