DSON? Well while it works, there are issues.
I have noticed that DSON does not do that well installing for two versions of Poser Pro at the same time. Immediately after installing it, I MUST ensure to move the contents of the Poser 2012 folder to one named Uninstall located in the Poser version folder that copy of DSON was installed FOR. Because ALL DSON's use folder name Poser 2012 automatically (user has no choice) for the Uninstaller folder. That done, It has, so far, worked well with my use of external runtimes and use of DSON with more than one version of Poser.
I use ONLY external runtimes, I do NOT allow any content to be installed on the boot/program drive. That means there are serious issues with installers and software that require installation to the USER folders. None of the DATA info is allowed there, nor in any of the program installation folders. If it is content, or assets if you will, it is located on drive D: in one of nearly 40 Runtimes. Working with Richard Haseltine, I found an installation method and "housekeeping" that does work well with DS 4.5+ and Poser Pro 2014+. This is saying that location of CONTENT (for ALL DAZ only stuff), DATA (for use by both DS and Poser), RUNTIME (for use by both DS and Poser) and ReadMe's (where SUPPORT goes, for use by DS and Poser).
The base structure that works for both is: in the root directory of the drive; a base folder such as "! 3D Work V4 CLOTHES B" with the following four folders
Content
data
ReadMe's
Runtime
There is ONE particular thing here when I am saving out a PZ3 scene. WHEN I load in an item that uses PCF's, I must save it out as either a new prop, MAT Pose or CR2 file and then load THAT back in. This has to be done with items in the scene being saved to a file (PZ3) or that PZ3 won't work when I reload it, as Poser will be looking for gobbledegook names for those items [ sample: 0f874ba2-798-1bdc07ea6196-bWFpbi1uLW4tTM1LTEyMDA=.obj for an unknown object ]. Since DSON handles DS content in the Poser Library transparently to the user, how can I know if I am loading in an item using PCF's?
