Welcome all! If you have questions about Poser 11 or Poser Pro 11 this is the place to ask. This forum will be monitored by the Renderosity admins and Poser's developers. Our goal here is to help all of you get up to speed with Poser 11's new features and then push them to the limit. If you have technical questions about Poser 11's new render engine, SuperFly, the new rigging tools, using subdivision morphs or Just Poser in general post them here. If you think you've found a bug you can discuss it here but it's still best to report it to Poser support. They can collect the information needed so we can fix it.

We'll also be posting links to useful tools, tips, tutorials and resources so you can get the most from Poser.

Stopping in to say hello. Exciting to see this new Poser 11 Forum. I will also be here to help out in whatever way I can.

I have used WillDial's Free "Genesis3PoserUpdater" here at Renderosity as well as Lululee's Tutorial on Genesis 3 in Poser 11. The results are quite nice and no need to use Das Studio to use Genesis 3 in Poser 11.

I want to start off with something useful here too. I've been working on a set of strand based hair shaders for SuperFly. It actually evolved into a research project. There are a lot of different ideas of how to do strand shaders with Cycles nodes. That and Poser handles strand hair differently than Blender. Excuses aside I've come up with a pretty solid recipe. Once it gets some testing it will be released as a freebie add-on for Poser.

It ended up being so complex I decided to make it into a compound node and just expose the bits I anticipated you'd want to mess with. Here's a screen shot of the whole mess if anybody's feeling like brewing their own hair shader.

This is still a prototype so wear your protective goggles.

Oh and also tomorrow there will be a webinar on SuperFly materials that absolutely will NOT cover that mess in the hair shader. It will an introduction to the Physical Root Node and how you can create a vast array of realistic materials with that simple root node.

Tomorrow, September 20th at 11 AM Pacific time. We'll have fun exploring the amazing power of the Physical Surface node. http://my.smithmicro.com/poser-webinars.html (Seats are limited!)

Nerd, can that hair shader be set up as a compound shader ... where all you have to change is the colors and highlights and the rest is hidden away in the compound unit? Just thinkin'.

When it's released that's exactly the way it will be. Only the important fiddly bits will be exposed. Like it is now I believe looking at it too long will cause a psychotic break from reality. It certainly made me go insane.

It's great to see you here Phil. Many Moons ago you did some various materials, P6 I believe, for use in the Cloth Room. There was Burlap, Silk etc......

Possible people would be interested in something like that now.

Cheers DR

Hello everyone.

I recently upgraded to Poser 11 Pro and it appears a small problem that I was dealing with in Poser GameDev, my previous version of Poser, involves progressive rendering in Firefly. In Poser GameDev, if I allowed the progressive render to go completely to the finish, I would merely end up with a render image that was some shade of grey or greyish-brown with alot of square-ish patterns in it but my solution then was to stop the render right before it reached the end and I would have a beautiful progressive render BUT now in Poser 11 Pro, progressive renders malfunction every time, no matter whether I allow the render to go completely through or if I stop the render at any point. Now I get the grey-ish screen with the square-ish patterns in it everytime. What might be causing this malfunction and what might be the solution?

Thanks

I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I just purchased the poser 11 pro upgrade and only have Internet on my cell phone is there anyway to download the files without using the download manager?
