Sorry for these videos in French. I promise you to make the new videos in English even if my accent will be horrible. I think this solution will help more.

If you want to simulate a blanket with a thickness, I think you can generate two meshed planes separated by a small distance. Then you can rigidify these planes as you want and then, you can use a rigidification by neighborhood using a distance that will only link the vertices of the two planes, 2 by 2 with a very low value (0.001 for instance).

The simulation will simulate the 2 planes like one but will keep the distance between the two planes.

Tell me your results, I will make some tests myself.
