Curious to know what people think of the state of the market Poser sits in (outside of Daz content support - don't need to ask about that side). For example the growth of indie game devs, game modders (eg Skyrim) who need to rig and animate characters and have even seen pro 2D concept artists pushing for the use of 3D figure apps for the initial design. There seems to be a growing demand for what Poser does or am I misreading the scene?

You can tell by the OP's question that he only has one aspect of what Poser can do in mind. Point, click, render. If that's all you know or think about, then yes, Poser's use to you is limited. However, even there, it's only limited by what new content you can buy to put in your scene that's already usable by Poser out of the box.
