Actually a well written script can follow a few thousand users a second. I'll let that sink in.
This not a case of needing to hack the database, it's using the sites own following mechanisms against the site itself.
Let this sink in: I never posted on the forums, never posted in the galleries, never did anything to interact with the community, I only bought stuff from here. Show me a script which uses "own following mechanisms" on someone, who never leaved a trail to follow. Realitätsverlust.
You are on the site. They did not pick you out because it's you. It picked out a Random user. Nothing more.
Don't confuse this with intelligence. It's a script, a bot, nothing more. Heck, I could have followed you, just by going to the who's online function (in the toolbar, go look) then following you from there. Yes. You do appear in that function soon as you log in to use the store.... There's your "trail" right there.
It's that simple.
