Inquire, you don't speak for "Macintosh people", you only speak for yourself.

In software development, features are only added to a product if it will sell more copies and doesn't add to support costs.

SM laid out their reasoning for not integrating DAZ's code into Poser back in August of '09. Had they done so, they would be stuck supporting depreciated DAZ tech (such as tri-ax weight mapping) for as long as Poser exists. With genesis 3's underlying tech changes, I'd say that decision was vindicated.

If DAZ wants their figures running in Poser, it is on DAZ to make it happen and at this point, they are unwilling to do so. All they have to do is either update DSON or make those DS figures Poser native - just like HiveWire3d did with Dawn and Dusk.

As an artist, it is incumbent upon you to learn the tools of your hobby. Take 2 minutes to install WINE and learn how to use it. Once you do that, all of the "windows only" Poser support apps become available to you. You want to do that. No, really, you do. Go look at Dimension3D's line of scripts that are "Windows only", for starters. Your unwillingness to learn tools is closing a lot of options.

I'd also point out that Apple is in the process of leaving the computing world and going to mobile (and fashion) devices only. Oh, and dongles - don't forget to get yourself a bag to hold all of them. Their desktops are moribund - the iCan hasn't been updated in over 1100 days, and the video cards in them were two years old the day it was released. The mac mini's last "update" actually lowered the specifications and drove the '12 model prices through the roof. The iMac is over due for an update, and then there is the mess that is the 2016 MacBook "Pro". There is no future for Mac computing.

I'd suggest you do the same thing as the rest of the professionals and power users are doing and start planning an exit strategy. When my MacPro goes, my next box will probably be an HP z840 series or equivalent.

Oh, and one more thing..... Apple didn't switch to Intel for a speed boost. They switched because IBM wouldn't deliver G5 chips at the price P.T. Barnum wanted to pay for them. Apple jumped too early - with the massive sales of Power6 chips for the PS3, the costs per chip dropped significantly. Go look at the Power9 architecture and tell me what you would rather have today, Intel's lineup or IBMs?
