Kristi,
I would like to make a purchase from renderosity later today. I had the full amount of a gift card stolen recently here at renderosity, and I am not willing to try my credit card here again just yet as it seems to be an ongoing thing.
What I want to know is this: If I purchase, say a vanilla Visa debit gift card, can I immediately put the full amount to either store credit or to something else? I'd like some assurance that if I take out $40 or $50 there won't be foul ups in the check-out process again that prevent me making a purchase, and then have someone swoop in and drain the card to zero like they did the last time. (Rendo or their middleman put multiple holds on the card, without authorizing the purchase, effectively blocking both the purchase desired and any other purchase I wanted to make).
You have my sympathy but it could be worse I had a fraudulent charge for more than 6000 Canadian Dollars some time ago and this latest breach had over £600 pound attempted on my card. Luckily I did not have to pay any of the monies but seeing a charge of that amount stresses you out. Irrespective of the amount charged I still have the hassle of having my cards blocked, having to reorder products and change any subscriptions every time this happens.
I wish you luck with your purchase and hope all is well.
I use Poser 13 on Windows 11 - For Scene set up I use a Geekcom A5 - Ryzen 9 5900HX, with 64 gig ram and 3 TB storage, mini PC with final rendering done on normal sized desktop using an AMD Ryzen Threadipper 1950X CPU, Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler, 3XS EVGA GTX 1080i SC with 11g Ram, 4 X 16gig Corsair DDR4 Ram and a Corsair RM 100 PSU . The desktop is in a remote location with rendering done via Queue Manager which gives me a clearer desktop and quieter computer room.
