How do other people's renders look or renders you did before getting this screen? What about other images? If you've done all that and still can't get good renders, then I'd look to the hardware. I don't know much about Macs. On windows, there is a ClearType setting you can adjust. Maybe mac has similar?

You didn't mention it. Did you check the filtering type on the image maps. A lot of textures still use quality instead of sharp or none.

To do a screen shot of what you see, try taking a picture of it with a camera. I don't know if it will show or not.
