Subject: Errors And Potential Bugs: Please Post Errors In This Thread

marble ( ) posted Sun, 05 February 2017 at 2:34 PM

I bought VWD and the DAZ Bridge a few days ago and, after an initial problem with loading the wrong version, I've tried maybe six simulations. Of those six, four have crashed DAZ Studio. I am trying with a Genesis 3 figure and have tried V4, G2F and G3F clothing items. All have crashed DAZ Studio at least once. I've shared the specs of my PC in another thread (yesterday, in the DAZ Bridge thread) but be in no doubt that I have a decent PC with a recent i7 Skylake, 32GB RAM and a GTX 1070 GPU.

I know from other users that I should expect the occasional crash but this many is making the product impossible to use.

Hello Marble,

I use the program and the bridge several times by day and I regularly have many days without any crashes. I regularly use V4 or G3F with many clothes and hair. Could you tell me if the crash comes from Daz Studio or from VWD itself. What is the folder in which you've installed VWD?

That's what I don't know. I'm following the Biscuits video for the parameters but it usually crashes before I get to the parameters. Just when I import the dress as cloth I get a message on screen saying DAZ Studio has stopped working.

On the optimistic side, I have tried four more since I posted the above message an no crashes. I have started deleting the exchange files before I do anything else so perhaps that has made a difference?

This is from the DAZ log file:

Yes, it's linked to the exchange files. According to the log, the first file from VWD the bridge encounters is a termination order, probably a left over from a former execution. Afterwards, the bridge is ending cleanly and I don't understand why studio is shutting down 5 seconds later... I recall this error from early in the beta version, but it's been corrected since. Are you sure you're using the current version of the script ?

I have an interesting bug; rendering after posing hair, the render is a blank image, as though the camera was under the ground plane for example; make the VWD posed hair invisible, and it renders - obviously with the exception of the hair. I've not had the same happen with clothes.

I've been running VWD with Daz Bridge for a while now and had no problems. I've just started to get an error "the file nom_objects.txt does not exist". I've reinstalled both VWD and the bridge, but I'm still getting the same error message. I'm running daz 4.9 64bit. One thing I've noticed - I'm using the 64bit dll, but in task manager it's showing as "VWDCothAndHair.exe (32 bit)"
I'm using VWD version 1.0.518.3626
