If you wanna save some money and not do a deal with the devil (Nvidia) then go with Amd. You can get a AMD RX 480 for less $$ than a Gtx 1060, but you'll get a full 4 gigabytes of onboard ram and faster performance when rendering with cyckles. Not to contradick Luxx again (sorry mate) but Nvidia are not the only game in town for gpu rendering. You will find if a renderer gives you the option to use OpenCL instead of cuda, then you are wasting money if you don't go with Amd. Shop around, but you can get a really great Amd card for a lot less than a Nvidia card and get more speed out of your purchase.
