It does better quality renders, but not quite like reality. And of course, you still have to know what you're doing. If you're familiar with Blender's Cycles, it's very close to that. Even if you don't use Blender, you can look at Blender tutorials and material samples to guide you. Renders take longer that Firefly but not as long as reality and it doesn't keep going forever until you stop it. Lights themselves don't show but they will show in reflections. You may see a dot for a point light or a rectangle for an area light Similar idea to reality's mesh lights). I don't use spots much to know what they leave and infinite lights don't show in reflections. Here is the same scene rendered in firefly, superfly and realty respectively. The shaders and lights were adapted to the best of my ability to each render engine.
