To me, Carrara is, and always will be a great user friendly, economical program, that has wonderful results. Do you think anyone besides Daz might pick it up?

I doubt it, since the market for low cost 3D animation programs seems weak. But Smith Micro, publishers of Poser, might consider it, given the great usability of Poser content in Carrara. I recall someone with knowledge of the situation saying that DAZ acquired Carrara in the first place to keep the Poser company (whoever it was at the time) from getting it. So it was a defensive, blocking type move.

I agree its a great program, and I'll be using it indefinitely regardless of what happens commercially. I have Lightwave and Poser but use them only if I have to for specific content that does not work well in Carrara, a rare situation since I typically buy only content that does work in Carrara. Meaning mostly Poser format plus some Carrara format. I also have Vue which I do use quite a bit, great environmental scenes plus some spectacular Vue only content.
