ajmarti ( ) posted Wed, 08 November 2017 at 2:00 PM · edited Sat, 23 November 2024 at 1:20 AM

Hi guys! I am looking for GEL And CANDY like materials for Poser pro 11... is anything like that available as material? Or how can I create it. I am not an expert in material room but I need something like that! Can someone help me?

You want Superfly or Firefly materials?

If I had a nickle for ever time a woman told me to get lost, I could buy Manhattan.

How familiar are you with the materials room? If I build a shader I can post a screen cap of it. If you know how to use the advanced tab in the materials room it would be easier than uploading an mc6 file.

Here's one that was supposed to be jello. It may work for Gel. Don't ask why I have a jello batting helmet.

Here is tutorial on this site that might point you in the right direction. It is considered an advanced tutorial, but you can look around on here and find others to point you in the right direction. I am still working on the shader.

It's really not as hard as some make it seem. You just have to dive in and give it a try. There are descriptions about each and every aspect of the materials room in the manual, too, so you have a basic understanding of what each node and root will do before you go in there. Good luck. I got side tracked when an idea struck me, but I will get back to it as soon as I get some sleep...

You might want to take a look at some of the procedural materials on ArtMystique's Free Shaders page. In particular I'm wondering if the AM Shine set might work for creating the look of gels or candy, depending on the prop they're applied to.

TOOLS: MacBook Pro; Poser Pro 11; Cheetah3D; Photoshop CC

FIGURES: S-16 (improved V4 by Karina), M4, K4, Mavka, Toons, and Nursoda's people

GOALS: Stylized and non-photorealistic renders in various fantasy styles
