Thx Red, problem would still be working in ds. I find the interface extremely difficult and it seems that even tho you're able to access your poser resources files its rather iffy. What would be great and its not going to happen is there being a way to easily use the new daz figures in poser. I haven't tried to export G8 from ds to maya yet. rather assumed since V4 was a mess in maya that G8 wouldnt be alot better.

If you're interested in Maya, earlier this year they allowed you to download and use the student version of Maya even if its just self study. Just enter your own name instead of the school. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.
