@triangle2010: what is your objective exactly?

I have imported lots of partial items from Xnalara -enabled character models into Poser and re-rigged them in Poser to get conforming models in just a few steps. I have Poser Pro 2014 - and not the game dev.

Here is a step-by-step guide for creating a M4 conforming item out from a Xnalara model.

  1. Export to OBJ from Xnalara. You can use a complete Xnalara model and just delete unwanted parts in a 3D program. Posing the model in Xnalara to approximately the same as your target model may be in order (like if you're thinking of loaning a shirt for M4 from a Xnalara model, it becomes easier to initially use a pose that closely resembles default M4 pose resulting in less work in step 3).
  2. In a 3D program (I use Wings3D for this), delete what you don't want (like if taking a shirt, delete skin, hair, eyes, lips etc and just leave the shirt), re-arrange or define new material groups and tesselate to get rid of tris. Renaming of the material groups may be desired. Export to OBJ.
  3. Import the OBJ into Poser. Use morph brush, scaling and translating to fit it into a default zero pose of the target model (like V4 or M4).
  4. Export the manipulated item to OBJ from Poser. Re-import (make sure NO options are selected in the import dialog). It should now fit the default pose of your target model.
  5. Selecting the imported model, now enter setup room and answer yes to the dialog.
  6. Leave the setup room back to the posing room. This trip makes the item as a dummy figure.
  7. Save the newly formed figure. Use WardrobeWizard to convert the newly saved model using the same "from" model and "target" model (like convert from M4 to M4).
  8. WW saves you a new figure that is now conforming when you load it. Join parameters may be wonky and may need be manually adjusted. Poser Pro 2014 allows to transform morphs from model to model so for my purposes I'm now done having created a new superconforming clothing item for M4.

In step 6 you could create the rigging from a donor model as well - I personally don't do this. WardrobeWizard conversion does not work that well for footwear and converting does require appropriate WW figure packs to be purchased from PhilC. But as an added bonus, WW conversion gives you many adjustments dials out of the box (like material zone inflates). I can go through this entire process in just 15 minutes give or take 5 depending on how much manual work needs to be done in step 2. First try will take considerably longer. Skipping the 3D program step is possible but Poser really doesn't like tris so don't expect good results.

This process **MAY **work with an entire Xnalara -enabled character model - I have only used to transfer clothing items, hair, beards and such. In essence it should be possible to convert a Xnalara -enabled character model to use a donor rig from - say - V4.

As an example, the below Poser illustration (postworked in Photoshop) has the hair from Xnalara -enabled AC3 model and jacket from a Xnalara -enabled Left4Dead model. 2015-09-16.jpg

This entire process is crude. It works fairly well though for my own intentions (getting a Poser render to be used as a basis in Photoshop). If your intention is to render lifelike game models in complex poses inside Poser, I don't think this process yields usable results.
