I finally decided to just follow the directions in the manual and add the Camera to a memory dot for now. I also LOCKED it for the time being:

1. In the Hierarchy Editor, click the "Show cameras" checkbox,
2. In the list, click on the camera.
3. in the main menu, go to "Object."
4. Near the top of the list, click "Lock Object."
