Because vendors actually ASK us to put item in clearance..OR they were there for a long time now. We haven't been deleting them out of clearance either.

Maybe they ask you to put them in clearance in the hopes they will actually be seen since the search function hasn't been worth a tinker's damn since the site redesign.
