I have no idea if this will help but it works for me:
Import each object with all options unchecked. This assumes that everything is in the correct position, relative to all other parts of the figure.
Set up the hierarchies.
Select the main part - the one that will be the "body" of your figure.
Scale to the correct size.
Re centre the figure.
Click the "Create New Figure" button.
New Poser, then find the figure in the New Figures folder.
Load the new figure into poser, set bends as necessary.
Save figure back out. This step ensures a full cr2 is created because Poser has a nasty habit of keeping it in memory and not writing it out otherwise.
After that, reload the figure, set up joints and materials as needed.
The only times it's gone wrong for me is if something corrupted in one of the obj files during modelling or exporting. Then, I can usually rescue things by getting rid of the materials and creating them again.
