I was thinking the same thing the first time I pushed that button, but it doesn't. You still have to select which of the gift certificates you want, so you can leave the page without committing. I'm glad you asked the question, I didn't realize I was already over a 1000 points myself, I'm going to go buy something now.

Oh, and when it gives you the gift certificate number, keep that window open, or copy the number. I for the life a me can't find the spot where your gift certificates are stored. I lost a gift certificate once and didn't find it again (by accident) something like 6 months later. And no idea how I found it.
